Gas Stations

Fuel and convenience retail sites built to operate.

← Back to What We Build

A gas station is a piece of industrial site work wrapped around a retail storefront, and both halves have to work together and pass the same inspections before the property can open. We build fuel and convenience sites from the ground up, canopy, fuel-system groundwork, site work, and the building itself, coordinated as one project instead of separate contracts that don't talk to each other.

The types of gas station projects we take on

Ground-up construction on a new site is the most common project type: canopy, underground fuel storage and piping, site work, and the convenience store building, all built together from a raw or cleared lot. Rebuilds and major renovations come up when a brand changes its image standard or an owner is upgrading dispensers, tanks, or the canopy structure on an operating site. Convenience store remodels, updating the retail interior without touching the fuel infrastructure, are their own smaller category, usually done to refresh the brand or add a food service component.

How we build it

Fuel canopies and underground fuel systems bring code and inspection requirements a general commercial build doesn't have, and we sequence that scope, tank installation, piping, canopy structure, alongside the site work itself: grading, paving, and drainage built around fuel truck access and everyday traffic flow. Inside, the convenience store gets the same interior build-out attention as any retail space, storefront, flooring, fixtures, finished to spec and ready to open on the same schedule as the fuel side of the site.

What drives the cost and the schedule

Site conditions matter more here than on almost any other commercial building type: soil conditions, existing utility locations, and environmental requirements around fuel storage can add real scope before the building itself is even part of the conversation. Canopy size and fuel system complexity, how many dispensers, how many tanks, drive a real share of the cost independent of the store's square footage. Inspection sequencing, since fuel system inspections typically have to clear before certain other work can proceed, shapes the schedule in ways a standard retail build-out never has to plan around.

Brand image standards

Many fuel brands carry their own image package, canopy colors, signage, dispenser branding, similar in spirit to a hotel brand standard, and we build to that package the same way we build to any other brand requirement, so the finished site matches what the fuel brand and the operator expect on day one.

Environmental and regulatory coordination

Underground fuel storage carries environmental compliance requirements that a typical commercial site never has to plan around, from tank installation records to spill containment. We build those requirements into the project from the earliest site work rather than treating them as a separate track that catches up to construction later.

We are licensed and insured, with over 20 years of combined experience coordinating site work, fuel infrastructure, and retail build-outs as one project, so a station opens ready to actually operate, not just to look finished.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle the fuel system work, or just the building?
We coordinate the canopy, fuel-system groundwork, and site work alongside the building itself, managed as one project rather than separate contracts.
Can you build the convenience store and the fuel site together?
Yes. The interior build-out for the convenience store runs on the same schedule as the canopy and site work, so the whole property opens at once.
What inspections does a gas station site typically require?
Fuel systems and canopies carry code and inspection requirements beyond a standard commercial build, and we build and sequence the site work to meet them.
Do you build ground-up stations or only renovate existing ones?
We do both, ground-up construction on a new site and renovation or upgrade work on an existing station.
